Clandon Good Neighbours

Clandon Good Neighbours is a scheme run by volunteers from the West Clandon community to support anyone in our village who may need a little extra help from time to time.

Clandon Good Neighbours is learning from and aiming to be part of other national and local good neighbour schemes, including in Send and Ripley.
Volunteers are all from the Clandons or neighbouring villages, DBS checked and, if a driver, will have a valid driving licence and insurance. All volunteers will have proof of identity.

How can we help you?

If you require help, please phone our Duty Officer on 07858 506023 between 10am to 12noon Monday to Friday. The more notice you can give us the better we will be. When driving is involved there is a nominal charge for driving services.

The duty officer will try to arrange for a driver or social visitor to assist you.

Our volunteers hope to help with:
shopping;
visits to the doctor or hospital;
social visits in your home;
prescriptions / groceries / library books;
some advice or just a chat.

But how else can we help you? We hope that we can provide other neighbourly help if possible.

How can you help us?

The scheme relies on volunteers, so if you can assist then please get in touch on 07858 506023. We already have a good team of volunteers, but in this scheme the more the merrier.  We need volunteers to provide assistance as:
Duty officer (answering the telephone and organizing help when required).
Driver (transport to the shops, clubs, surgeries, clinics or hospital).
Social Visitor (collection of groceries, prescriptions, library books, a cup of coffee and a chat).

The scheme is supported by:

West Clandon Parish Council
The West Clandon Parochial Church Council
Surrey Community Action
